Our trip to the Museum!

We went to a trip to the Museum and looked around the galleries. We looked at Pictures, Sculptures and paddles. Aunty Ora lead us around the Museum to look at some art work to give us some ideas for our art. When we had all finished looking around at the art works we went to do our own art. We used foam paper and stencils and used a stick to press down on the foam paper and then painted over it any colours we wanted then placed our paper on top of the foam  paper and used a roller to press down on the paper.

That was our day at the Museum!

Dancing with my friends!

 

Have you ever done a school dance? We were watching a dance tutorial for the whole school to learn.
We were dancing to the song Sundown by Six60. We had split up into
different groups to make a up a dance together. In my group was Danika, Porshia, Milah and I, we choose the song Crazy Feelings. We used Mahi tahi and Kaikorero our group while making our dance. We only had 20 seconds to make our dance so we had to crop the song. We had a lot of fun making our dance
together!

Winter writing

 We were learning about how to describe the snow and put it into a quick write that we did for writing.

I found it easy to for a cool snow background.

I found it hard to think of similes to put in my writing.

I really enjoyed making this piece of writing about the snow in winter.

Next time I need to add some more detail and similes.

Koru writing

We were learning about korus and how we can describe them.

I found it easy to find my koru picture and write some similes .

I found it hard to know what to write about korus.

I really enjoyed making this writing and making similes.

Next time I need to add more detail for my koru writing.

Author's purpose

Today we were learning about what an author's purpose is.

We were using kairangahau and kaiwhakarite in our learning today.

I enjoyed this because I got to learn about persuading, entertaining and informing people.

Introducing Danika and myself in Te Reo

We were learning about how to introduce myself and my friend Danika in Te Reo

I found it easy to say introduce Danika better then myself.

I found it hard to pronounce some word in maori.

I really enjoyed introducing myself and Danika using the mote tool.

Next time I need to practice some of the Te Reo words.

Road safety

 We were learning about road safety. To always look both ways, walk your scooter and be aware of cars.

I found it easy to fill in lots of parts to our road safety video when Porshia and Mia were away because we got it done faster.

I found it hard to think of more ideas for our video instead of doing the same over and over again.

I really enjoyed making the road safety video with my friends and using mahi tahi with them.

Next time I think we could think of more road safety examples to show.

My writing

 

For our writing we have been writing Narratives. We have been learning to add a great hook in or opening line to our writing and to start our sentences in different ways.

This week we also had to have a smile and alliteration in our writing. This slide shows my hook in, sentence beginnings, simile and alliteration.

We are using our Kaiwhakarite/Self Manager learning asset by reflecting on our learning.

PB4L

 We were learning about how to show respect in a group of four. We had to use our PB4L behaviour matrix to show others what Respect looks like in the classroom.

I found it easy to take photo with my group and decide who would take the photos.

I found it hard to catch up with all the photos my team had taken while I went to patrols.

I really enjoyed doing this with my friends in my group.

Next time I need to use more of Mahi Tahi.

Triathlon

 We were learning about how to challenge ourselves a do the best we can do.

I found it easy to be the swimmer in my team because i love swimming and I'm pretty fast at swimming.

I found it hard to swim four laps without getting tired.

I really enjoyed doing the triathlon in a team with my friends and people who I've never done it was before.

Next time I need to push myself more and do individual.

                                                                                                                                                       

Korowai

    We were learning about how opposite colours can look the best together.

I found it easy to dye our feathers and draw the designs on them.

I found it hard to glue the feathers in the right place and not have the same colours touching.

I really enjoyed making this is a group with my friends and nobody cared what colour they were going to do.

Next time I need to use more of Mahi Tahi.  

My comic!

 We were learning about how to make a comic on how to look after your your chromebook.

I found it easy to pick out the people that were good for my story and know what they should say.

I found it hard to hard to make this comic about how to look after your chromebook and where to put my characters.

I really enjoyed making this comic book on how to look after your chromebook.

Next time I need to improve on the detail of how to look after your chromebook.

My Te Whare Tapa Wha

 We were learning about how to make a Te Whare Tapa Wha about us.

I found it easy to find some cool photos that connect to me.

I found it hard to know what to write on slide for what I do or what my family and I do.

I really enjoyed making the Te Whare Tapa Wha about me.

Next time I need to add more of what I do and that what I have gotten better at.

Bio poem

We were learning about how to write a bio poem to describe ourselves.

I found it easy to describe myself with words.

I found it hard to understand what to write sometimes.

I really enjoyed learning how to make a bio poem about myself.

Next time I need to improve on how to describe myself.
